Intro
We develop generative models, reinforcement learning methods, and search algorithms for decision-making and discovery in large, structured spaces. Our research connects combinatorial optimization with AI for Science & Engineering, including molecular and biological sequence design. We use problem structure and prior knowledge to discover diverse, high-quality solutions while making efficient use of limited data and expensive evaluations. We are also interested in generating structured learning environments and developing world models with causal and temporal abstractions that support efficient long-horizon decision-making
